Trine University FIRST® Scholarship In support of the FIRST® mission, Trine University is offering 10 academic-based scholarships, each for $2,500, to high school seniors who have participated on a FIRST team during their high school career. This scholarship may be utilized for any undergraduate course of study within the Allen School of Engineering and Computing at Trine University The scholarship is renewable up to a total of $10,000 over four years, contingent upon maintaining good academic standing and remaining full-time in an undergraduate degree program. Each recipient must meet the regular academic requirements for admission. $2,500/renewable over the course of up to 4 years of undergraduate studies in the Allen School of Engineering and Computing Scholarship Eligibility To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you must: • Have participated on a FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC®) or a FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC®) Team during high school. • Be a senior in High School • Apply to Trine University as a full-time student. o You do not need to have been admitted at the time you apply for this scholarship but you do have to be officially admitted to utilize this scholarship • Other Criteria o Major in the Allen School of Engineering and Computing o First Year, Full-time undergraduate degree-seeking student
Application Process To apply for the Scholarship, complete and send the application package including: • A completed Scholarship Application (found on the next page) • A letter of recommendation from an adult mentor/coach on your FIRST team • A letter of recommendation from a teacher/guidance counselor • Submit a 1-2 page essay highlighting FIRST®-related achievements, your role(s) on the team, and examples of your leadership and personal initiative. Also, describe how FIRST® has influenced your career path.
